In October 2019, the SOMTech Notification System was implemented in order to make it easier to send notifications to Windows computers managed by SOMTech. The notifications will look like the window below.

SOMTech NotificationWindows Updates for May

As described on https://go.vcu.edu/SOMPatching, May's Windows patches are currently available for install. These can be manually installed following instructions on the website or they will be automatically installed and the computer will be rebooted on the evening of May 26th (around 10PM).

In order for these patches to be applied properly, it's important that you leave any onsite desktop computers on for Thursday night if you do not manually install them.

This has been an official notification from SOMTech. To verify its authenticity, please visit https://go.vcu.edu/SOMNotifications or email SOMTech@vcuhealth.org.

Should only be shown to users that have MECM installed.
